Architectural and fine art photographer, designer by trade, and self-proclaimed art nerd, Kurt Griesbach is Corgan’s in-house photographer capturing work from our domestic and international offices in their most compelling moments. In addition to architectural imagery highlighting Corgan’s many projects, he also creates photos that distort reality by blending the recognizable and the abstract in his spare time.

Brandon Carmichael and Tania White, Corgan's Design Research Specialist, speak with Donald Strum, the principal in charge of product, furniture, and graphic design at Michael Graves Architecture & Design, who is behind some of the most innovative designs of our time in everything from healthcare to houseware and even jewelry. Working under and closely with Michael Graves, his team has grown into a full-service industrial design firm that collectively handles a wide variety of design commissions for various clients, resulting in the group bringing to market more than 2,000 products over the past two decades and winning numerous national and international design awards.
In this episode, Donald dives into his past 25 years in product design at Michael Graves. He details how the partnership with Target blossomed and lead to what many have hailed as ""the democratization of design"" by pioneering the concept of design partnerships, his commitment to designing products that will improve people's lives and transform healthcare design services for the aging, physically disabled population, as well as for the people who care for them, and how at just ten years old Disney World sparked his interest and drive for his outstanding career in architecture and design. Where previously healthcare design and amenities were shifting toward providing conveniences and offerings— from yoga studios in hospitals to subscription-based services for healthcare— these spaces are now focused on keeping people safe, healthy, physically distant, showcasing cleanliness and the precautions taken to keep the facilities clean and occupants safe. In the hierarchy of wellness, physical wellness has returned to being the top priority.
